A records keeper for HIVE, but essentially a mole and aiding Vance & Jade in their work. Was an ex-librarian who was essentially dragged by the higher ups without his explicit consent, but signed in anyways and was required to work to avoid imprisonment. Despite a youthful appearance, relatively older & bites back at others without much hassle. Casually suicidal and often looking into the best way to die, even if it’s no longer necessary after his freedom from HIVE. Implications of this being so that no one from the district can use him after his death, and plans on this official suicide for after he helps Vance and Jade with their own mission out of respect for granting his wish of initially faking his death to be free. Ultimately does go on to live, acting as the foster father for LIONNE.MIDNIGHT BUTCHER, H. VON KLINT: he/it. 27, 5'10ft.
An atelier & serial killer in the REDLOCK district, infamous for being raised by the SHOP into a work–obsessed organ harvester. Referred to as the Shop’s pet and essentially being ordered/trained/technically raised to be their weapon of mass destruction who, without orders, feels as though he has ultimately no purpose and is perpetually bored or lonely. With orders is extremely destructive / murderous without apology. Due to his reputation, no one wants to associate with him, so he treats those who treat him normal quite endearingly. Von Klint was originally trafficked as a young shell, often being locked in dark rooms and restrained until DIRECTOR. Has a body modification ability which allows him to turn his shell into hard weaponry with ease.UMI-MI: they, it, she. 24, 5'4ft.
A DISTRICT-feared resident for an intensity to rid of those within the REDLOCK area of the district, a Class-2 atelier who dresses in extravagant fashion, claiming to be seeking salvation. At a glance seemingly lacks any and all kinds of emotions, but proves otherwise through deliberate, yet emotionally mechanized actions. Umi-mi’s lack of expression is due to a perpetual, nearing catatonic state of shock after the murder of her coven as a fledgeling shell. With how differently Atelier’s live and process, although the state that Umi-mi is in borders lack of processing and inability to function — evident by constant shedding due to poor natural shell maintenance — Umi-mi is still extremely in touch with emotions, feelings, and thrives off of murdering others in attempt to un–shock themselves. Holds a weaker shell of her own, but has an uncanny ability as an atelier to easily regenerate/resurrect herself after a given period of time.ARACHNE: ??? ??? ???
A skeletal being that wraps around Umi-mi at the ribs, lingering behind and discarding of anyone who fails to draw Umi-mi interest without bias. Arguably the only one who is capable of communicating Umi-mi's own feelings, but has no seeming urgency to do so if not preferring to keep their conversations private. When deeming people as 'too intrusive', opts to impale whoever's closest, regardless of if they are the offender or not. Seems only agreeable towards THE MIDNIGHT BUTCHER, though this is ultimately unknown why.DOGA: he/they/it, 19+ 5'9ft.
THE MISSING FRIEND of Kiki. In the beginning of the story, depicted as a cold and uncaring figure, though holds a softer spot particularly for Kiki and Kiki is aware of this, having previously scolded him for impulsive and violent behavior towards others. Although his disappearance wasn’t inherently unexpected / unanticipated, it still was a long enough time for Kiki to step a foot in looking for wherever he ran off to or was taken to. Things get complicated when his last sighting was at the Sewer Well and was suspected of striking a deal with Tomori which may or may not have something to do with his disappearance. Represents anger. Left home due to being a deteriorating/black–rot infested Class-2 Atelier, and while he has an influx of power in physical sense, striking the deal with Tomori that if he locates and kills the original father of Lionne, she will offer permanent protection for his younger brother who'd contracted BLACK ROT.DIRECTOR, ANGELISTA: they/he/she, 40+ 6'0ft.
The head-figure of the REDLOCKE's BUTCHER SHOP, a cleaning service which goes on to donate the remaining organs to underground hospitals within the region. Not much is known about them minus having raised Von Klint, begging the question as to whether or not DIRECTOR should be entrusted with the SHOP due to speculation on how Von Klint now behaves. Despite this, they seem fairly fond of him & scold him for acting out, regardless of of it does much for either of them.CLEANER, NYLA: she/her, 21, 5'6ft.
VON KLINT'S PSEUDO-SISTER & the one who often is cleaning up his messes, but always holds a good attitude on the matter. In fact, them both holding positive mindsets towards their work is the only reason they've managed to stay as a team for so long. Can often be found scrounging around for extra work due to boredom, to which Von Klint always somehow manages to complete first, instilling friendly competition between the two around the SHOP.FLYLORD: they/them, ??? 5'0ft.
A Class-2 Atelier which overlooks THE MARKET, often taking care of many of it's civilian's and guarding an ancient God-like in slumber referred to as SCOLIA. Is often surrounded by large centipede-like creatures, seemingly of the FLYLORD's own creation, that also offer as transport for those within the MARKET subsection of the sewers. Has a strong dislike for Tomori, and rightfully so when considering the past they'd shared.THE HOST, ESHE: she, they. 34, 6'1ft.
The Host and mother of THE MARKET's parasitic wasps: while threatening in their nature, Eshe's ability notably allows for her inner workings to mold to surroundings, as well as her shell, in order to have a comfortable nest and home for the wasps, and they serve as protection for her as she was born into blindness & muteness which has hindered her thus far. While FLYLORD makes sure that Eshe is comfortable in her living, the wasps have aided her as well in successfully owning a shop to sell to humans & ateliers who wander by. They'll only attack on command out of loyalty.TENE: they/he. 25, 5'11.
Not a noteworthy figure within the market, but that's perhaps what draws attention to him regardless. Nomadic and fleeting, a Class-1 Atelier that has no regard for his surroundings, more focused on the mundane tasks at hand. Well-wanted by cleaners for having notoriously poisonous spit, hence he stays in THE SEWERS and often guides people in and out of them due to THE MARKET'S odd pathings.BACK
